INtroduction to Bespoke Tailoring

A foundation of hand tailoring techniques taught through the making of a bespoke waistcoat. This two-week workshop uses a pre-made base pattern to cut and construct a waistcoat. Students will learn traditional bespoke tailoring techniques such as mark stitching, pad stitching, stretching & shrinking, canvassing, handmade buttonholes, and all hand finishing.

The workshop includes more than five instructional videos, written instructions, diagrams, and in-person fittings and guidance.

Tailored Trousers

This is a two-part workshop that covers both the fitting and making of tailored trousers. The first part focuses on pattern modification, starting from a pre-made trouser pattern. Using both body measurements and 2-3 toiles, we study the fit of the trousers, and then modify the paper pattern accordingly. The second part is the making of the trousers, in which we learn traditional bespoke tailoring techniques such as mark stitching, stretching & shrinking, pockets, handmade buttonholes, and all hand finishing.

Fitting a Tailored Jacket

A detailed focus on the fitting of a tailored jacket or overcoat. This is a ten-day workshop in which we toile and modify a standard jacket pattern to fit a specific body. We learn how to modify the pattern using body measurements, and then continue perfecting the pattern through 2-3 toile fittings. We study the fit of each toile, and end by preparing the paper pattern so it’s ready to be cut.

This workshop includes step-by-step instructions on HOW TO DRAFT A TWO PIECE SLEEVE for jackets and overcoats, as well as HOW TO DRAFT A COLLAR.

Bespoke Jackets and Overcoats

This is the ultimate dive into bespoke tailoring through the making of a jacket or overcoat. The perfect segue from JACKET FITTING, this 5-6 week workshop starts with the cutting out of a jacket or overcoat.

In addition to all the tailoring techniques covered in INTRO TO BESPOKE TAILORING, this workshop covers how to make a floating canvas, draft and make a collar, and attach shoulder pads and sleeves.
